Specialized steel construction or mechanical engineering is not the question with us. Everything that can be made out of steel – and complies with our resources (tools, hoists and size of factory building)- is in good hands with us. This web site shall demonstrate the diversity of our work and the manifold fields of application.

In Viernheim, this family-owned enterprise has developed from a small beginning to becoming the partner of large-scale industry. In 1948 Heinrich Babylon founded a water installation company, which was enlarged to a millwright enterprise two years later. In 1955 the order situation was exceeded locally and first business contacts were set up – Babylon became a supplier for industry.

This business line developed so favorably, that in April 1976 Babylon moved from Blauehutstrasse to Zeppelinstrasse in Viernheim’s industrial area where the company is located to this day.

In 1976 the founder of the company passed away and the company was changed into a GmbH.

Babylon’s daughter Inge – who, by the way, has learned her job starting from the bottom and has a skilled mechanic certificate – together with her husband Hans Stumpf, a locksmith, took over.

With their son Heinrich Stumpf, a skilled mechanic as of 1985 as well, the enterprise is family-owned in the third generation now.
